  1. First thing first, go to the official page of MyJHU  https://my.jh.edu/portal/group/myjhu.
  2. At the top right of your screen, you can see the “Log in” button tap on that.

Procedure to create an account at MyJHU

  1. Go to the official page of the MyJHU link given above.
  2. Your screen will display you a search key bar below the featured tools + Resources section.
  3. Enter your first and last name and click the search button.
  4. You have to review the list of results to find the correct record of your name; once you’ve done, tap on your name.
  5. Once you’ve done all the proper procedures, your JHED ID will show on your subsequent screen.
  6. Now you can log into the MyJHU portal once you’ve found your JHED ID.

Procedure to change MyJHU Password;

The password you’ve created once generally expires every six months. You will receive a notification when your password is going to expire and need to change. If you want to change your password for any other reason or your password will expire, here are given below some simple steps, follow the instructions, and your password will surely change.   2. Once the MyJHU page opens on your screen, click on my profile icon at the top right of the screen.
  3. Go to the password management box under my profile ad click on the change password link.

  5. Next, update your security questions. After completing all the procedures, click on the change password and set the security question button.
  6. MyJHU will successfully change your password.

Procedure to add nickname in MyJHU

MyJHU portal gives you an option to add the nickname to your profile whenever you send and receive emails, and when someone looks you up in the directory, they can see your nickname.

Follow some instructions given below to add your nickname.

  1. Login to your account at the MyJHU portal
  2. Click on my profile icon at the top right f the screen.
  3. Scroll down to the nickname option and enter your nickname, whatever you want.
  4. You can edit your preference and see it or not, click on the drop-down menu, and set your audience.
  5. Scroll down to the “save myprofile” button tap on it to save your change.
  6. Your nickname won’t show on your bills, grades, transcript, class registration. If you want to change your name in these documents, you must change your full legal name inside Myjhu. Once your name is legally changed, submit an official document representing the name change to the registrars’ office so they can update your information in the system.

What is JHED?

JHED that stands for Johns Hopkins enterprise directory, is used to grant access to the MyJHU portal, JHU SIS, and JHU email. It is a comprehensive online source of contact information for JHU students.To log into the JHED system, you need your JHED login ID; you also call it JHED ID or JHED LID.

A new student has received their JHED ID via email.

How to find your JHED ID?

  1. Go to the MuJHU official page
  2. There are given a search box at the top right of the screen
  3. Enter your name and click on the go button, find your full name and click on
  4. Your JHED ID will display on your screen.

How to log into JHED for the first time

If you’re a new student and got your JHED ID, you can now log in to the JHED system and access your account.

  1. Go to the official page of MyJHU,
  2. Navigate to the upper left corner and click on first time user
  3. Next, MyJHU will port you to the first-time JHED user screen.
  4. Enter your JHED ID in the given box
  5. Next, verify your identity and set up your account
  6. Next, you will be asked t enter your social security number and your date of birth
  7. (If you are an APL employee, you will be asked for the employee id instead.)
  8. After your information is verified, you will choose a new password, secret question, and secret answer.

Procedure to create your JHED password 

There are few simple steps to create your JHED password.

  1. First, visit the official page of MyJHU.
  2. Next, you will enter your Login ID.
  3. If you didn’t receive your ID (Your john Hopkins JHED Login ID) yet, don’t try to search yourself, you can contact 410-516-8080 or via email at [email protected].
  4. Next, you will enter the character of the image in the given blank and click continue.
  5. Create your password and confirm
  6. Next, you will enter your date of birth.
  7. Next, enter your SSN (five digits of your government ID)
  8. International students enter the ID Number they receive via mail at their email address to use as their JHU Government ID.

  10. At last, select your three security questions and answer them and click on continue.
  11. Next, you will receive your confirmation mail from MyJHU that your new password has changed.

Can I access MyJHU Blackboard with my JHED ID?

Yes, you can access all the portals and University-wide services through JHED ID. If you have installed blackboard on your phone, you can directly log in through your JHED ID and if you want to access it at your desktop, then first go to the official page on the MyJHU Blackboard page. Click on the login button “Login using JHU enterprise Authentication” given on the left side of the screen.
